Newington’s Lucy Robbins Welles Library Rocks

There are 45 people registered for my travel presentation on my one-year journey through the 48 continental states, Canada and Mexico in an RV. The presentation begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Lucy Robbins Welles library in Newington, CT. The name of the book is “Strapped into an American Dream,” which details how we were able to pull off a trip of this magnitude as well as the people we met and the places we visited along the way. There is so much to see in this wonderful country that an entire year on the road only scratched the surface, but what a year it was. We traveled 35,000 miles and linked all 48 lower states. We visited 23 National Parks, Graceland, Las Vegas, Mardi Gras, and the geographical center of America in Kansas. It was an unforgettable trip and one that resonates with people because it’s a dream of many. It’s the american dream, and what I’ve found is that most people cannot do something like this, but they are enthusiastic about traveling vicariously and becoming an armchair traveler. I will tell them all about it and give them the opportunity to take home a copy of my book tomorrow night (Seatbelt Not Required).

I will also have copies of my out-of-body travel paranormal series. Desert Son and Wayward Soul. The third book of this trilogy, Spiritual Intervention, will be released December 15, 2016.

Local Author Festival at Avon Library

Michigan Strikes Again

If you’re interested in entering a Goodreads giveaway for a free book, and you live in Michigan, then your odds of winning are increased exponentially. I’m not sure what it is about Michigan, but that state always surprises me. Even while traveling through the state during my one-year journey through America in an RV, I found something extra special about Michigan. Whether it was the people we met or the places we navigated through, we left with an unexpected satisfaction. Maybe it was the friendly  people or the friendly police we ran into a couple of times at campgrounds. Maybe it was the Upper Peninsula and our side trip to Mackinac Island. Perhaps it was the beautiful Pictured Rocks, the Soo Locks train ride to Canada, or Lake Huron. This was quite a combination.

Then comes my Goodreads Giveaway. I decided to give away a copy of my three books. My two paranormal books were offered worldwide, and my travel book was offered just to readers in the United States. The paranormal books went to Canada and Michigan. My travel book, Strapped into an American Dream, also went to Michigan. I sent it off today. Amazing odds for Michigan, considering that over 4,300 people entered the contests. The contest ended this week, and the book was mailed today.

Note to Winner: After sealing the envelope, I looked and saw my personalized note on the table. I had to force open one side and slide in the folded note, then tape it shut. Enjoy my books Michigan!

The (RV) Show Must Go On

The Northeast CT RV & Camping Show at the CT Convention Center is this weekend and Storm Jonas (brothers) is not going to ruin it! We’re only expecting 1-5 inches of snow in the Hartford area. Hopefully it misses us completely because this is my favorite show of the year. I’ll be speaking and signing copies of my book, Strapped Into An American Dream. Come on out to the show and start thinking about warmer times and travelling by land. I will also be doing a book signing at the Worcester RV Show in the DCU Center in Worcester MA on Sunday,  February 21st from 11-5PM. Come on down and step into one of these American dreams.

Strapped Into A Better CT clip

Here is a clip from the Channel 3 website of my Better CT show appearance this afternoon discussing my one year journey through the 48 continental states in an RV. It was a wonderful experience to see the behind the scenes of this television show with Scot Haney and Kara Sundlun moving around the studio from set to set with the cameraman shouting out how much time before each scene goes live. My shot was inside an RV provided by Van’s RV. This is all in preparation for this weekend’s CT RV Show at the CT Convention Center, and hopefully winter storm Jonas pushes out to sea.

Better CT appearance for RV Show

Tomorrow at 3PM I will be on the television news show Better CT to talk about my year on the road living in an RV while hitting the 48 continental states. The RV Show is at the CT Convention Center this weekend (snow or shine). I will be talking about my travels at the RV  Show and signing books from 10 AM – 4 PM. That’s a lot of talking. 2015 RV Show Booksigning

It’s not too early to think about camping, and that thought will take us through the long, cold winter. That’s the mindset of RV and camping enthusiasts. That’s why the Northeast Recreational Vehicle & Camping show pulls into town next month on January 24^th and 25th. I will be there signing copies of my book, “Strapped Into An American Dream.” Thousands of people pass through the Connecticut Convention Center for this event, and it’s by far the best event for my travel book. There will be more details to come, but if you’re a camping and recreational vehicle enthusiast, then be sure to attend this event, and stop by to say hello. I will say hello back!
