Michigan Strikes Again

April 3, 2016

If you’re interested in entering a Goodreads giveaway for a free book, and you live in Michigan, then your odds of winning are increased exponentially. I’m not sure what it is about Michigan, but that state always surprises me. Even while traveling through the state during my one-year journey through America in an RV, I found something extra special about Michigan. Whether it was the people we met or the places we navigated through, we left with an unexpected satisfaction. Maybe it was the friendly  people or the friendly police we ran into a couple of times at campgrounds. Maybe it was the Upper Peninsula and our side trip to Mackinac Island. Perhaps it was the beautiful Pictured Rocks, the Soo Locks train ride to Canada, or Lake Huron. This was quite a combination.

Then comes my Goodreads Giveaway. I decided to give away a copy of my three books. My two paranormal books were offered worldwide, and my travel book was offered just to readers in the United States. The paranormal books went to Canada and Michigan. My travel book, Strapped into an American Dream, also went to Michigan. I sent it off today. Amazing odds for Michigan, considering that over 4,300 people entered the contests. The contest ended this week, and the book was mailed today.

Note to Winner: After sealing the envelope, I looked and saw my personalized note on the table. I had to force open one side and slide in the folded note, then tape it shut. Enjoy my books Michigan!

Better CT appearance for RV Show

January 20, 2016

Tomorrow at 3PM I will be on the television news show Better CT to talk about my year on the road living in an RV while hitting the 48 continental states. The RV Show is at the CT Convention Center this weekend (snow or shine). I will be talking about my travels at the RV  Show and signing books from 10 AM – 4 PM. That’s a lot of talking. I will also have copies of my two fiction books available as well, Desert Son and sequel Wayward Soul. Hope to see you there!

Charlie Sheen Strapped Into An American Dream

March 7, 2011

Charlie Sheen is making a million and a half dollars per episode, and wants 2 million dollars per episode. He let all of his fans down, and has gone off the deep end. He not only bit the hand that feeds him, but he ripped it apart, not to mention his selfishness to his crew. Charlie Sheen is strapped into an american dream, and all he can do with his good fortune is trash everyone associated with him. Everybody who helped him attain his dream has crashed and burned due to his own pilot error.

Michael Jackson lived and died in a big way

July 2, 2009

There really is nothing out of the ordinary surrounding Michael Jackson’s death.  His life was epic, and most people will not come close to what he accomplished in his life by the age of ten.  Even from that young age, his accomplishments grew in epic proportions.  Now is the moment that nobody expected.  Michael Jackson has died. The world is shocked.  This is big.  This is shocking.  This is so very much in line with the way he lived.  He could never leave us slowly at a very old age.  That would not be Michael Jackson.  He left us in the same fashion as he joined us, and as he coexisted with us.  Everything about him was large, and everything about him IS large.  I was watching a movie the other night and a Jackson 5 song came on.  I was instantly shot back to the seventies and the memories kicked in.  He is still affecting people and he always will.

Public Appearances for Glenn Maynard

June 22, 2009

Today I received an email reply from Diane Smith, who I had emailed last week regarding a possible interview on her TV show.  She responded that she would be interested in an interview for a morning Talk Radio show (1080 WTIC AM) she will be doing in June and August, and requested a Review Copy. Then I received an email from Manchester Community College (MCC) regarding a car show. I had received it last Friday, but deleted it since I have no interest in cars. I like them. I think they’re neat, but that’s where the love affair ends. When I received the email again on Monday, my ‘think outside the box’ light went on and I decided to email them regarding a booksigning at this event. For a nominal fee of $20 I secured a spot. It’s this Sunday in Manchester, CT. I will have newspapers advertising my booksigning at this event, and I will get my feet wet during this first booksigning. Onward and upward.

American Idol 2009 Kris Allen

May 21, 2009

Another season of American Idol has come and gone.  Kris Allen beat Adam Lambert (the favorite of Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul).   Either of the two could have won.  Many shows are coming to an end, and my Boston Red Sox can get my undivided attention.  On the night that Kris Allen takes the crown, Big Papi hits his first homer.    Varitek hits two dingers, and Ellsbury ties a major league record with 12 putouts in center field.  Everybody wins tonight, except the Blue Jays.  Even Adam Lambert is a winner.  America will be seeing more of him, because he too will be Strapped Into An American Dream.

I am learning how to link blog posts to other social media sites, and my experiment starts now.   I begin with my blog post (here) and try to share with other sites like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and LinkedIn.  Here it goes…

The Chicago Tribune review request for “Strapped Into An American Dream”

May 19, 2009
My publisher just received a request for a review copy of my book, “Strapped Into An American Dream,” from the Chicago Tribune, which has “Resourceful Traveler” within its Sunday Travel section.  This Travel book review column would do wonders for my book, so I am very much hoping that they will do the review, but they could not guarantee it. I can guaratee that I will be thrilled if the Chicago Tribune reviews “Strapped Into An American Dream.”
