Think of Spring with the Northeast Connecticut RV & Camping Show coming this Weekend

January 19, 2015

I will be doing a book signing at the Northeast Recreational Vehicle & Camping Show at the Connecticut Convention Center on Saturday and Sunday (January 24th and 25th) from 10 AM to 4 PM. I will be signing copies of my book, “Strapped Into An American Dream,” which details my one year journey through the 48 continental states in an RV. I will also have copies of my latest book, “Desert Son,” available for purchase. This signing was announced in The Hartford Courant and The Glastonbury Citizen last week, and Mike Cameron will announce my appearance on Channel 3 News (WFSB) this coming Saturday. Attached is a link to the RV Show as well as my website for further details of my books. Let’s get thinking about spring in the middle of winter and get out of hibernation and into dreams of warmer weather. One month from today Spring Training starts for Major League Baseball, so I can almost smell it!

2015 RV Show Booksigning

December 17, 2014

It’s not too early to think about camping, and that thought will take us through the long, cold winter. That’s the mindset of RV and camping enthusiasts. That’s why the Northeast Recreational Vehicle & Camping show pulls into town next month on January 24th and 25th. I will be there signing copies of my book, “Strapped Into An American Dream.” Thousands of people pass through the Connecticut Convention Center for this event, and it’s by far the best event for my travel book. There will be more details to come, but if you’re a camping and recreational vehicle enthusiast, then be sure to attend this event, and stop by to say hello. I will say hello back!

Snow and Ice and…an RV Show!

January 19, 2011

I’m sitting here listening to ice crystals bounce off the air conditioner in my window, and my muscles are still sore from digging out the 24 inches of snow left behind during the last record-breaking blizzard. Spring training for baseball is less then a month away, and the Northeast Recreational Vehicle & Camping Show is only a few days away. I will be signing copies of my book, “Strapped Into An American Dream” in the show at the CT Convention Center this Saturday and Sunday (January 22nd and 23rd). Hang in there. Visit the RV show and dream about traveling in warmer weather. Think about Spring Training a few weeks away. Know that the ground hog is starting to stir. The reality of winter may be harsh at times, but we can dream of an escape. Who knows…maybe that dream will become a reality. It can, and it has for some.

2 Big Shows upcoming

October 6, 2010

I will be returning to 2 big events from last year. The CT International Auto Show (November 20th and 21st) and the Northeast Recreational Vehicle & Camping Show (January 22nd and 23rd) are again taking place at the CT Convention Center. These events bring thousands of visitors, and this year I will be inside the show for both events. The CT Convention Center shows have held the biggest events for me so far, so returning with a new softcover edition of “Strapped Into An American Dream” will be a much easier task. Since I caught the show director’s earlier this year, I will be listed in their advertising and better promoted.

Action at the Northeast RV & Camp; Camping Show

January 11, 2010

Saturday and Sunday at the Northeast RV & Camping Show turned out great.  The weather was cold, but dry, and the turnout was magnificent.  I sold several books at the show, and what better place could there be for my RV book as far as networking goes.  I made many contacts, and at the same time I will list the noteworthy events:
1. A guy listening to me speak to someone about my trip stepped up and asked me if I would like to come speak to his Rotary Club in the Waterbury area.  I told him that I would and he took my contact information from my Press Release.
2. Two guys came up to me and were connected with the Boston RV and Camping Expo.  They wanted me to come to their show, but they also had a website and one of the guys carried a videocamera.  He told me to promote the hell out of my book and then held the camera up to my face.  I held the book up and introduced myself and my book and then answered a series of questions for the video clip.  He fired off questions and I fired back answers. He took a copy of my Press Release and said he would send the clip to my Public Relations Coordinator.  This all happened so fast, but I did get a card and will pursue this opportunity.

One of the guys asked me if my book is listed on, which is the biggest RV book site on the web. He said he is good friends with the owner, and told me to drop his name to the owner to get my book on there.

3. I noticed that Arlington RV Supercenter was participating in the show. I had included them in the beginning of my book when they towed us and fixed our camper in the first couple days of the trip in RI. I spoke to the guy in charge, showed him his company name in my book and handed him a Press Release. They do carry RV books in their store and maybe they could purchase some books. I got a card and gave him a copy of my press release.
I made several other contacts with RV dealers that my Public Relations coordinator will follow up on.
This was the ultimate venue for my book. I made connections that should lead to speaking engagements and ultimately book sales.

This morning I fired off an email to the Boston RV Expo contact person about a book signing this Saturday.  I will await his reply.  Now the iron is hot.
